Zelenskyy makes statement on meeting with Russians after talks with Trump
The United States must continue to be part of the peace process, as it is the country that Russia fears the most.

Ukraine continues to work actively with international partners and is discussing with them upcoming meetings with the Russians — direct negotiations for which Ukraine is fully prepared.
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address on May 20.
«I have already spoken with the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb; the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni; the Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz; the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen; and also the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre. I have more conversations scheduled today, ” Zelensky said.
And, as the President added, «the day is far from over.»
«We need joint positions and even more coordinated efforts. Diplomacy is stronger when we are united. We are discussing with our partners the details and ideas from yesterday’s conversation with U.S. President Trump, ” Zelensky said.
He emphasized the importance of America remaining a participant in the peace process. It is America that Russia fears, and it is American influence that can save many lives.
«If it exerts pressure on Putin to end the war. We are talking with partners about upcoming meetings with the Russians — direct negotiations that Ukraine is absolutely ready for. In any format that delivers results, ” the President added.
