Moscow avoids clear commitments to ending the hostilities, but Western pressure is forcing it to seek compromises.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this, the Presidential Office reports.
"Ukraine has demonstrated — and everyone emphasizes this — its readiness for a full and unconditional ceasefire. We are not setting any conditions, and the Russians have no right to impose any conditions," Zelenskyy said.
At the same time, he notes that Ukraine opposes lifting sanctions on Russia in exchange for its agreement to a ceasefire, and this position is supported by European partners.
"I believe that increased pressure and dialogue between the Americans and them will still lead to a ceasefire," Zelenskyy concluded.
