Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has claimed that ambassadors from the United Kingdom, France and Germany requested a meeting with his deputy.

Lavrov made the statement during a meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) foreign ministers, according to Russian state media.

He said Moscow is ready to “listen” to Western diplomats.

“We will listen, it is even interesting to hear how these people will present anything that could lead to constructive ideas. After the leaders of these ambassadors — Merz, Starmer, Macron — made absolutely insulting remarks about Russia and repeatedly resorted to personal attacks,” Lavrov said.

He also accused the West of having “completely destroyed all security systems in Europe,” adding that, in his view, all key arms control treaties have been eliminated.

“It is important for us to prevent what was once called the "common Eurasian home" from turning into an arena of geopolitical confrontation,” the Russian foreign minister said.

Lavrov did not provide further details about a possible meeting with the ambassadors of the three European countries.
