Belarus’s self-proclaimed president Alexander Lukashenko claimed he is ready to meet Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy, even offering to travel to Ukraine for the talks.
The Belarusian dictator’s statement was reported by state-run propaganda agency BelTA.

Lukashenko brought up the potential meeting while addressing warnings from Zelenskyy against dragging Belarus into the war.

«If he wants to talk about something, ask for advice, or anything else—please, we are open to it. Anywhere in Ukraine or Belarus, I am ready to meet him and discuss Belarus-Ukraine relations,» the head of the Russian satellite state brazenly claimed.
Lukashenko added that he allegedly faces no issues communicating with Western officials.

«For some reason, we have plenty to talk about with Americans, Germans, Poles, Lithuanians, and Latvians, but not with Ukraine,» he cynically stated.

Dmytro Lytvyn, an adviser to the Ukrainian president, shot down Lukashenko’s claims in a comment to RBC-Ukraine. He stressed that the Belarusian dictator’s words have meant nothing since Belarus became a launchpad for Russian aggression in 2022.

«So, we watch his actions. Lukashenko has a habit of making up rather stupid stories after the fact about where an „attack was being prepared“ against him. There is nothing to talk about here,» the adviser said.
