Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a Russian oil station
On the night of August 18, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces attacked Russia’s Nikolskoye oil pumping station in the Tambov region.
The strike caused a fire at the facility, which led to a complete halt in oil pumping through the Druzhba trunk pipeline.
This facility is a key element of Russia’s economic infrastructure and is used to supply occupying forces.
Slovakia, following Hungary, left without Russian oil
After the Ukrainian strike, oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline to Hungary and Slovakia were completely stopped, Reuters reported.
In turn, the Slovak operator Transpetrol confirmed the suspension of oil pumping.
«Our company does not have more detailed information about the cause of the suspension, which is outside the territory of the Slovak Republic, ” the company’s statement said.
Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó reported the suspension of Russian oil supplies.
In his Facebook post, he noted that Russian specialists were working to restore the transformer station. According to him, the station was damaged during the latest attack, and now they are waiting for oil supplies to be restored.
Hungary blames Ukraine
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó blamed Ukraine for the attack on the pipeline.
«Ukraine has once again attacked the oil pipeline to Hungary, as a result of which oil transport to our country has been stopped. Another attack on our energy security is outrageous and unacceptable!» he wrote in his Facebook post.

The diplomat claimed that Brussels and Kyiv had long been trying to drag Hungary into the war in Ukraine, and «Ukraine’s increasingly frequent attacks on our energy security are also aimed at this.»
Szijjártó said that Budapest «wants to stay out» of the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine, while also threatening to halt electricity sales from Hungary.
Ukraine advises complaining to Moscow
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha responded to the statement by Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.
The Ukrainian diplomat reminded his Hungarian colleague that it was Russia, not Ukraine, that started the war and refuses to end it.

According to Sybiha, Hungary had been warned for years about Moscow’s unreliability as a partner. Nevertheless, even after the full-scale invasion, Budapest still made every effort to maintain its dependence on Russia.
«For years, Hungary has been told that Moscow is an unreliable partner. Despite this, Hungary is doing everything to preserve its dependence on Russia. Even after the start of the full-scale war. Now you can send your complaints — and threats — to your friends in Moscow, ” the Ukrainian foreign minister noted.
