Russia is attempting to showcase its military might and exert informational pressure on European nations.

The deployment of Russian «Iskander» missile systems near the Polish border is viewed as part of provocative actions by the aggressor state, Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service (SBGS) says.

SBGS spokesman Andriy Demchenko shared this assessment during a national telethon broadcast.

According to him, such moves allow Russia to not only demonstrate its power but also amplify its informational influence on European countries.

However, Demchenko pointed out that the Russian forces involved in military exercises in Belarus lack the numbers to launch an attack on Ukraine.

«That said, we cannot rule out provocations or informational operations — like the footage of the „Iskanders“ that Russia disseminated,» he emphasized.

The SBGS spokesman stressed the importance of closely monitoring all developments to respond swiftly to any hostile actions against Ukraine.
