The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine addressed reports regarding Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich’s visit to Kyiv, emphasizing that Ukrainian authorities are ready to leverage any opportunity to bring about a just peace.

This was stated by Heorhii Tykhyi, spokesperson for Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry, during a briefing.

According to Tykhyi, there is no need to speculate or look for hidden motives behind the contacts that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already commented on.
«The President of Ukraine utilizes every opportunity, even the slightest one, to bring peace closer. That is the correct and comprehensive assessment of this contact,» Tykhyi noted.
The MFA reminded that the president had already explained the circumstances and goals of the meeting with Abramovich, meaning no further political comments on the matter would be provided at this stage.

Journalists also inquired how the Russian businessman managed to reach the Ukrainian capital given the closed airspace and martial law.

Responding to the question, Heorhii Tykhyi refrained from revealing the logistical details of the trip, instead joking about the oligarch’s mode of travel.

«Regarding the specific organizational details of Abramovich’s visit, I won’t surprise you with anything interesting. It’s safe to say he obviously didn’t fly by plane,» the MFA spokesman said.

The travel route and other details of Roman Abramovich’s stay in Ukraine remain officially classified.
