Russian dictator Vladimir Putin wants Europe to collapse, and Russia would not necessarily need to send tanks to defeat it.

This view was expressed by Valerii Pekar, a lecturer at the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School, Kyiv 24 reported.

He stressed that an attack on Europe could take place without the use of ground forces.

«Putin does not need Europe’s territory — not a single part of it. What he needs is its collapse as a political entity and its political unity, ” the expert said.

In his view, such a «hybrid attack» on Europe could begin with a massive missile and drone strike, as well as cyberattacks on energy infrastructure and logistics. He added that the drones could be disguised as Ukrainian.

«For example, Poland’s energy system lacks the same resilience to strikes as Ukraine’s, meaning the country could be plunged into darkness for weeks. Add cyberattacks, hundreds of acts of sabotage, electronic warfare from ships in the Baltic Sea and an artificial refugee crisis on the border with Belarus. The Polish government would not withstand such an attack. Imagine 10 million Poles fleeing to Germany. Germany would also be unable to cope with such a number of refugees, ” Pekar said.

The expert warned that destabilisation of Europe would halt European support for Ukraine, while U.S. support is currently absent.
