In the early hours of April 17, the Russian occupying army launched a massive attack on the Chernihiv Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant. The facility has temporarily suspended operations, the Chernihiv City Council reported.

«Critical infrastructure facilities have once again sustained targeted hits, impacting the stability of their operations,» the statement reads.

Municipal authorities report that hot water services for Teplokomunenergo customers have been temporarily cut off.

Emergency crews and technical specialists are currently on-site at the damaged facility. Precise timelines for restoration are still being determined, as the scale of the destruction requires a comprehensive technical assessment.

The Teplokomunenergo municipal enterprise of the Chernihiv City Council serves the majority of the regional center’s consumers, providing heat to most residential buildings, public institutions, and other entities.
