Russia already planning another year of war: Zelenskyy issues stark warning to West

Russia views the coming year as another year of full-scale warfare. Signals emerging from Moscow point to a complete lack of any genuine interest in peace.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in his video address.
«Today we heard further signals from Moscow that they are preparing the next year as a year of war. And these signals are not meant only for us. It is crucial that partners take notice. And it is crucial that they not only take notice, but also respond — especially partners in the United States of America, who often claim that Russia supposedly wants to end the war. What we hear from Russia is entirely different rhetoric and entirely different signals — including official directives issued to their army, ” Zelenskyy said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that rhetoric about an alleged readiness to end the war is masking Russia’s intent to destroy Ukraine and to legitimise territorial grabs. The president called on partners, including the United States, not to be misled by Moscow’s diplomatic manoeuvres.
«When this is their mindset, they will also seek to sabotage diplomacy, attempting to conceal their desire to destroy Ukraine and Ukrainians. After that, other European countries will be put at risk — countries that Russia may describe as its „historical lands, ” the president said.
Zelenskyy urged partners to show the «courage to see the truth» and to counter Russia’s aggressive plans with concrete steps. According to the Ukrainian leader, defence against Russian aggression must be built on three key elements.
«Genuine protection is needed from this Russian story of madness, and we will now continue working with all partners to make sure that such protection is real. Security decisions are needed, financial decisions are needed — including on Russian assets — and political decisions are needed. And what is also needed is the courage of all our partners to see the truth, recognise the truth, and act on it, ” Zelenskyy said.
