Russia kills first Ukrainian civilian in the new year: Details

Russian forces shelled the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson on January 1, killing a 31-year-old local resident.

This was reported by Head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Yaroslav Shanko.

“There is already the first victim of Russian terrorists in the new year,” the head of the Military Administration said on social media.

A 31-year-old local resident in the Dnipro district of Kherson was killed by Russian shelling. He suffered injuries that proved fatal.

Shanko expressed his condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.

The Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that, in connection with the man’s killing, the district prosecutor’s office has opened a pre-trial investigation into a war crime that resulted in a death.
