Russia strikes major regional center: Aftermath of the attack

Russian forces targeted the city with «Shahed» drones early on March 16, with impacts reported in the Shevchenkivskyi and Kyivskyi districts.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Oleh Synehubov, Head of the Regional Military Administration confirmed the strikes.

One of the drones hit the Shevchenkivskyi district, injuring at least one person.

Another impact was recorded in the Kyivskyi district. Emergency services were dispatched to the site.

«A second strike hit the border between the Kyivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts. Transport infrastructure has been damaged. For now, we have no information about casualties, ” Terekhov said in a later update.

Synehubov said a 34-year-old man suffered an acute stress reaction following the attack and was receiving medical assistance.
