If Ukraine receives at least a hundred Tomahawk‑type cruise missiles, this could radically change the course of the war in favour of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Such an opinion was expressed by aviation expert Valeriy Romanenko in a comment to Radio Svoboda.
«Optimally — the more, the better. About a hundred missiles would already correct the situation; they would change it mirror‑wise, ” Romanenko said.
At the same time, he urged caution against inflated expectations, noting that if Ukraine receives only a small number of these missiles, there will be no significant difference.
«Twenty missiles — that’s nothing. …of the 20 Tomahawks received we would be able to use effectively at most four of them, ” the expert said.
In his assessment, because of Russia’s powerful air defences «four out of five launched Tomahawks will be shot down.»
«If we receive 50 Tomahawks — the number of destroyed Russian enterprises could reach a dozen. And that would already be serious losses for the Russians. If we receive them at a rate of 20–30 missiles a month, the Russians will not be able to continue the war for long, at most half a year, ” Romanenko says.
