On the morning of June 5, Russian forces attacked Kherson using aircraft, artillery, and drones. Residential buildings, a school, and a hospital were damaged; there are injured civilians. The enemy also hit administrative buildings — including the City Council and the Regional Military Administration.
This was reported on Telegram by the Kherson City Military Administration.
According to the post, a 74-year-old man was injured. He was hospitalized with a mine-explosive trauma.
The Kherson Prosecutor’s Office stated that four guided aerial bombs hit the regional center on June 5.
As a result of the airstrike, one of the departments of the Kherson City Council was also damaged. Eight windows were blown out in office rooms inside the building.
The aftermath of the attack
Three educational institutions in Kherson were damaged by the Russian airstrike. Around 200 windows were shattered in the buildings.
Russian forces also attacked with drones and shelled the city with artillery. At least five apartment buildings, one administrative building, and an educational institution were damaged.
At this time, it is known that two men were injured. Another four people were rescued by emergency services from a blocked basement. They did not require medical assistance, as Head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported on Telegram.
Prokudin also said that in May, Russian forces fired around 10,000 shells at Kherson region — resulting in 25 deaths.
«Another 212 people, including 5 children, were injured. Drone attacks remain the biggest threat — on average, the occupiers launch between 2,000 and 3,000 UAVs per week across the region. Last week alone, the enemy attempted nearly 2,300 drone attacks — 80% of the drones were destroyed,» he added.
