Ukraine has agreed with its Western partners that all weapons from joint defense enterprises both in Ukraine and abroad will go exclusively for the needs of the Ukrainian army. while the war with Russia continues.
This was stated by Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, following the «Ramstein» format meeting in Brussels on Wednesday, June 4.
«This meeting showed our common goals, and we discussed them. Our partners asked me whether Ukraine could build enterprises in their countries in order to supply them with certain weapons. So we agreed with our partners that the weapons produced abroad by Ukrainian companies would be sent to Ukraine as long as the war continues, ” Umerov said.
The minister did not name the joint enterprises that will produce weapons abroad, but according to him, this initiative has already been named «Ramstein’s Investment in Industry.»
«So, member countries can build large enterprises in Ukraine, and we are building enterprises in other countries. Ukrainian drones have changed the scenario of the war, and they will be able to influence the preparation of the Ramstein participant countries for the future. Therefore, we hope this will support the European Union’s 50-billion-euro production program, and our partners are ready to move forward. This is a positive situation for all sides, ” he noted.
Rustem Umerov also acknowledged that Ukrainian companies will be created with the aim of becoming global players in the arms market.
