Why Putin massively kills Ukrainians: Portnikov reveals Kremlin’s cynical motives
The war launched by Putin has become a tool for the demographic extermination of Ukraine.
War in Ukraine
If the war continues for another 5–6 years, Ukraine’s population will continue to decline, while Russia’s population will remain at a sufficient level to play the leading competitive role in Eastern and Central Europe.
This opinion was expressed by Ukrainian journalist and political commentator Vitaly Portnikov on his YouTube channel.
According to him, the war initiated by Putin has become a tool of demographic extermination aimed at reducing Ukraine’s population to a number that would ultimately eliminate the possibility of geopolitical competition between the Russian and Ukrainian peoples in the 21st–22nd centuries.
The journalist reminds that Ukrainians have always been a geopolitical alternative to Russians — both in the Russian Empire and in the Soviet Union.
Vitaly Portnikov emphasizes that European nations are shrinking in number, so success in the demographic war with a rival nation is one of the most important aspects of Russia’s survival and geopolitical success.
«If the war continues for another 5–6 years, the Ukrainian population will keep declining, while the Russian population, which is not directly involved in the war, will at least remain at levels sufficient to play the leading competitive role in the region, ” he noted.
In this context, Vitaly Portnikov made some simple calculations:
«If by the end of the war, there are 100–110–120 million or more Russians in the Russian Federation, and only 20 million Ukrainians and 25–30 million Poles, then who will be the largest nation in Eastern and Central Europe? Just from a mathematical point of view. This is how Putin is paving the way for Russians into the future, ” the journalist concluded.
