Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stressed the need to maintain and intensify pressure on Russia, calling it an essential condition for achieving a just peace.

Zelenskyy made the remarks in his evening address.

He noted that public sentiment inside Russia is gradually changing. According to the president, more and more Russians are expressing dissatisfaction with the authorities as they begin to realize that the war offers them no prospects.

«This pressure of ours, along with every other form of pressure on Russia, must continue to work and ultimately work for peace. A majority in Russia is already questioning Putin because there is no end in sight to his war,» he said.

The president also stressed that the hardships currently faced by Russians should make Russian citizens understand that the war is a reality rather than an abstraction.

«All the difficulties Russians are experiencing now should bring them closer to the realization that this is their war, that it is not just „rocks falling from the sky,“ and that this war must come to an end,» the head of state concluded.
