Zelenskyy holds talks with Trump’s envoys: Key issues discussed

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said talks with U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were productive. The discussions centered on outlining steps to end the war and secure a lasting peace.

Zelenskyy shared the information on social media.

«We are working around the clock to bring closer the end of Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine and to ensure that all documents and steps are realistic, effective, and reliable. We discussed a number of key working details. There are strong ideas that could deliver a shared result and lasting peace. Genuine security, real recovery, and true peace are what all of us need — in Ukraine, the United States, Europe, and among every partner supporting us, ” Zelenskyy said.

According to him, the talks involved a broad diplomatic and military team, including National Security and Defence Council Secretary Rustem Umerov, Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, First Deputy Foreign Minister Serhii Kyslytsia, and Deputy Heads of the Presidential Office Ihor Brusylо and Oleksandr Bevz.

«We agreed that Rustem will speak with Steve and Jared later today. We see it as essential not to waste a single day or any opportunity that could bring us closer to results. Let today’s discussion be another step toward peace, ” the president said.
