Zelenskyy responds sharply to Orban’s «partnership» proposal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave a strong reply to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s proposal of a «strategic partnership» as an alternative to Ukraine’s full membership in the European Union.

He made the remarks during a press conference in Denmark.

Zelenskyy stressed that no one will be able to block Ukraine’s path to the EU, as this is both «the will of the country» and «Europe’s decision.»

«No one can block this. Because it is the will of the country and, accordingly, Europe’s decision to see Ukraine as part of the European Union in the future, ” the President said.

Zelenskyy openly acknowledged that Ukraine has «problems with Hungary, ” linked to the prime minister’s stance. He explained Orban’s behaviour by the upcoming elections in Hungary.
