Does Ukraine have real alternatives to the Patriot system? Defense Express responds

As of now, Ukraine has no real alternatives to the American Patriot anti-aircraft missile system.

This was stated by Oleh Katkov, editor-in-chief of the specialized military publication Defense Express, during a broadcast on Kyiv 24.

«Although the country does have certain systems, such as the SAMP/T, even the Air Force does not mention them as practical options for modern air defense. The President of Ukraine clearly stated that defense must rely on what is already working — and unfortunately, Patriot is the only effective system currently available for defense, ” he said.

According to the expert, alternatives such as Israel’s David’s Sling system are not being sold by Israel. There is also a system from South Korea, but they, too, are refusing to sell their military equipment to Ukraine. As a result, Ukraine remains dependent on the Patriot system.
