President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Donald Trump’s special representative, Steve Witkoff, was spreading Russian narratives with his statements about the possible inclusion of Ukrainian territories in a "peace agreement."

This was discussed during Zelenskyy’s briefing on April 17.

"Today we are discussing an unconditional ceasefire. And before a ceasefire, we are not discussing territory. You know my position and our red lines. We will not recognize our temporarily occupied territories, Ukrainian lands, as Russian," Zelenskyy said.

He also noted that Witkoff adopted the strategy of the Russian side.

"I believe it is very dangerous, because he — whether consciously or unconsciously, I don’t know — is spreading Russian narratives. And I don’t see that he has a mandate to discuss Ukrainian territories… He doesn’t understand at all what he is talking about. I mean, we’ve heard all of this before, but we’ve heard it as the nonsense of Mr. Putin," the President said.
