The activities of well-trained Russian sabotage and assault units have been observed in the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region.
This was reported on the air of Espreso by military expert Ivan Stupak, who worked at the SSU from 2004 to 2015.
"The appearance of enemy sabotage groups in Pokrovsk is a bad sign. Previously, sabotage groups entered the city, but they were poorly trained fighters. They acted quickly and just as quickly became "200s" [killed] or "300s" [wounded]," he says.
However, according to him, the situation has now changed.
"The danger now is that, as far as I know, professional, well-trained sabotage and assault units are entering," Stupak emphasizes.
He describes one documented incident: Ukrainian soldiers were driving a pickup truck on the southern outskirts of Pokrovsk when they came under small arms fire. One soldier was wounded, and when the soldiers jumped out of the vehicle, it was immediately struck by a drone.
"This is a verified fact — the appearance of Russian sabotage groups on the southern outskirts of Pokrovsk," the expert stresses.
He also notes that, based on war experience, after the appearance of serious enemy sabotage groups, it usually takes one and a half to two months before major problems begin in the city where they were spotted.
