The Defense Forces continue their defensive operation in the Pokrovsk area, and reports by the German outlet Bild suggesting that the city has been fully captured and that the fighting is “over” do not reflect reality.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as cited by Ukrinform.
General Staff spokesman and officer of the Communications Directorate Dmytro Lykhoviy emphasized that the position of the Ukrainian command remains unchanged.
"The situation in Pokrovsk is extremely tense. Yet Ukraine’s Defense Forces still hold the city’s northern sector along the railway line, carrying out active operations to destroy enemy strongholds," Lykhoviy said.
Even under pressure, Ukrainian units are working to secure logistics in Pokrovsk and nearby Myrnohrad.
The General Staff spokesperson stresses that a key task for Ukraine’s Armed Forces is preventing Russian troops from massing assault groups and bypassing settlements.
