Russian forces once again used North Korean KN-23 missiles during the attack on Kyiv on the night of April 24. However, the enemy is working on improving the accuracy of these missiles.

This was stated by Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in a broadcast on Radio NV.

Romanenko described the characteristics of the KN-23 missiles:

“This is a kind of analogue to the "Iskander" missiles. But it differs by having low accuracy and greater power. Its warhead is about a ton — twice as powerful. One can imagine the consequences of their use. Recently, Russian and North Korean engineers have been working to improve their targeting accuracy,” the lieutenant general explained.

He also expressed the opinion that Russia's use of missiles from North Korea indicates a shortage of its own ballistic missile equivalents.

Romanenko is convinced that Russia deliberately carried out the attack on Kyiv against the backdrop of peace negotiations.

“This was done with the aim of pressuring our country’s military-political leadership and its citizens, ordinary residents of Kyiv. The impact is crucial for them — especially given our firm stance not to legally recognize the transfer of our lands to Russia,” the former deputy chief of the General Staff explained.
