Russian attempts to break through to Kostiantynivka are being stopped by Ukrainian troops before they reach the city.

The information was provided by Commander of Drone Systems of the 28th Mechanized Brigade, Serhiy Yaryi on Ranok.LIVE.

He said weather directly influences the intensity of drone use on both sides. On favorable days, enemy drones can reach long distances, but Ukrainian forces can also destroy the enemy even at long approaches without deploying personnel or logistics.

"This slows the enemy’s advance because their vehicles cannot get close to their positions over any significant distance, and then for these groups to move forward. As a result, they have to walk about 15 kilometres on foot, and during these movements we are already searching for them, detecting them and destroying them on the approaches to the city," he explained.

The commander also said that Ukrainian troops have adapted their drone tactics to freezing conditions: "This makes it possible to hold a kill zone on the approaches to Kostiantynivka and prevent enemy groups from entering the city."

Mapping data from the analytical resource DeepState indicate that Russian units have reached the vicinity of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region.

Analysts reported that the enemy advanced from the settlement of Oleksandro-Shultyne and continues to pressure Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defensive lines in the areas of Pleshchiivka and Predtechyne.
