Unfortunately, there is a threat to the residents of Sumy.

Russian forces have approached Sumy to within approximately 20 kilometers — a critical distance.
This was stated on the "KYIV24" broadcast by Ivan Stupak, a military analyst.

The Russian army currently controls 200 square kilometers of Sumy region from the north. Russian forces have already come within 20–22 km of the city of Sumy.

"This is truly a critical point, after which Russian troops may begin chaotic, indiscriminate, and at times targeted shelling of the city of Sumy," Stupak said.

Multiple rocket launch systems, artillery, and UAVs — they will target civilians.

Moreover, Russia continues to stretch our military resources. The occupiers are trying to find weak spots across the entire front line. They are partially attempting to achieve local successes — to approach the city of Sumy.

"They don't actually need the city itself; they just want to destroy it, like any other that stands in the way of the Ukrainian army," Ivan Stupak noted.
