Despite Russia’s claims of alleged readiness to accept American proposals to end the war, no real preparations for a «ceasefire» by the Russian army have been observed.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this in his evening address.
According to the Head of State, after Easter, Russian forces resumed active assaults, trying to advance on the front despite heavy losses.
«Each day of such battles clearly proves: Russia is trying to deceive the world — to deceive America and others — and to further drag out this war,» Zelenskyy emphasizes.
He underlines that without increasing pressure on Moscow, it is impossible to force it to stop the aggression.
The President also noted that during meetings in the Vatican and Rome on April 26, Ukrainian partners confirmed their understanding of the real situation.
