Mykhailo Podolyak believes that if Russia maintains its current pace of militarization and authoritarianism over the next five years, NATO will have "no chance" in a war against it.

NATO is psychologically unprepared for a war with Russia, and the only way to defeat the aggressor country is through Ukraine. Russia must lose to Ukraine.

This opinion was expressed by Mykhailo Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in an interview with the TV channel FREEDОМ.

The official says that despite NATO countries possessing weapons, the Alliance is not ready to use them in the event of a Russian attack. According to Podolyak, the bloc stands no chance against Moscow.

"The endless emergence of plans that NATO will be ready in 3-5 years to start a war, military operations with Russia - or rather, that Russia will be ready to attack NATO countries. What strikes me the most here is the total psychological unpreparedness of NATO countries for war as such. That is, they have quite a lot of weapons, and these weapons are much more effective, but they are not ready to use them. Consequently, if, in five years, Russia retains the current pace of militarization and authoritarianism it is experiencing today, NATO will have no chance," Podolyak stated.

He adds that he does not understand why Alliance members have not yet realized this.

The advisor to the head of the Presidential Office is convinced that NATO countries will not go to war with Russia.

"They will not fight. They are in no way, and never will be, psychologically prepared for a war with Russia. Russia understands this as well. That is why Russia is gradually raising the stakes in this war, gradually abolishing all taboos and rules, including the rules of warfare, and is accordingly preparing a foothold," the official noted.

He also outlined the condition under which NATO could have a chance to defeat Russia."If Russia does not lose to Ukraine now - this is, in fact, the only way to defeat Russia - defeat it through Ukraine. Ukraine can achieve this. But then NATO countries must prepare for very severe consequences," Podolyak emphasized.
