President Zelenskyy announced intensive diplomatic efforts focused on ending the war and achieving lasting peace. According to him, a series of key negotiations with partners from Europe and the United States is currently underway.
He shared this in a Telegram post.
«Today is a day of numerous calls and contacts to make real progress toward peace and to guarantee Ukraine’s independence under any circumstances, ” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The president’s schedule includes talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, as well as contacts with the leaders of France and Italy. Additionally, on Zelenskyy’s instructions, a special format of communication will take place at the level of national security advisors.
Zelenskyy also noted that, following yesterday’s joint conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump and European leaders, he spoke with the new NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
According to him, three priorities remain unchanged: a ceasefire from Russia, agreeing on a format for a leaders’ meeting to achieve lasting peace, and long-term security guarantees — jointly with Europe and the U.S.
«Ukraine has never wanted war and will work as productively as possible for peace. The key is that Russia, which started this war, must take real steps to end its aggression, ” the President stated.
He also stressed that the world possesses not only the political will but also effective mechanisms to pressure the aggressor. Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to everyone committed to a just end to the war.
