Zelenskyy tells Europeans about Putin’s dream

The dream of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is to see a divided Europe — not united, but fractured.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during his address to the participants of the European Council meeting.
«Moscow still has plans to escalate pressure — not only against us in Ukraine but also against European countries and the European Union itself. This is Putin’s dream: to see a divided Europe, where fringe voices gain influence and advocate not for unity, but for division, ” Zelenskyy said.
He emphasized that this is why Russia is willing to support anyone — no matter how radical — who tries to weaken Europe from within.
«Most of you clearly recognize this threat and are standing up to it. And because of that, today’s Europe is much stronger than it was five years ago. That is what gives us unity, ” he added.
Zelenskyy stated that even in a time of global instability, the European Union remains a powerful global actor, one that is capable of — and is actively — defending European values and interests.
«It also plays a key role in ensuring that the war Russia is waging does not spread further — and in moving toward peace. Without Europe, that would be impossible, ” the Ukrainian President concluded.
