Zelenskyy warned world leaders about a new danger linked to AI-driven military technologies.
He said this during his address to the United Nations General Assembly.
Zelenskyy stressed that the rapid development of drones guided by artificial intelligence poses an enormous threat, suggesting that such technologies could soon fall into the hands of terrorist groups or criminal cartels.
«It won’t be long before drones appear that can shoot each other down and attack critical infrastructure entirely on their own, without human involvement — except for those who control the AI system, ” the President said.
Zelenskyy called for urgent global action, describing the current era as «the most destructive arms race in history.» He emphasized that without real security guarantees and international cooperation, the world will be unable to effectively counter these new threats.
«We need global rules on where artificial intelligence can be used in weapons systems. This is as urgent as stopping the spread of nuclear weapons. We must restore international cooperation, ” The Ukrainian President concluded.
