The Russian army is striking civilian gas stations in Ukraine rather than military targets. This represents nothing more than «the enemy’s impotence» and a retaliation for attacks on Russian oil refineries.
Serhiy Kuzan, Head of the Ukrainian Security and Cooperation Center, shared this assessment on the Kyiv24 TV channel.
According to Kuzan, Russian forces are unable to hit fortified military facilities and have instead turned to terrorizing civilian infrastructure in frontline areas. Furthermore, this reflects the weakness of the Russian military.
«Military fuel bases are better protected than civilian gas stations. To offer any kind of response to successful Ukrainian strikes on oil refineries and fuel storage tanks, the enemy attacks. This is purely about civilian terror and an attempt to provide a media response,» the expert stressed.
