No troop build-ups have been observed near the Ukrainian border on the Belarusian side, but the threat from this direction remains high due to planned joint Belarus-Russia military exercises.

Andriy Demchenko said this during a broadcast on the Espresso TV channel.

He emphasized that, although there are currently no troops near the Ukrainian border on Belarusian territory, fortification efforts along the border have been intensified to counter potential threats.

«I will reiterate that this direction remains threatening for us, and significant attention is being paid to it, particularly in terms of fortification efforts both along the border and in the border area, so that Ukrainian soldiers have all the capabilities to counter any threat if it arises again from Belarusian territory,» the State Border Guard Service spokesman said.

According to Demchenko, no unusual situations have been detected directly at the border at this time. He also confirmed that there is no observed formation or concentration of troops on the Belarusian side.

The spokesman noted that joint Belarus-Russia military exercises are expected in the near future. «An active phase was planned for September, and during this time, the threat to us will, of course, increase,» he added.
