Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has approved a 40-day operation to pressure the aggressor state into ending the war, following a meeting with SSU (Security Service of Ukraine) chief Major General Yevhen Khmara.
The head of state announced this on social media.
According to the president, he received briefings from the SSU chief on the implementation of «long-range» and «medium-range sanctions» plans, as well as the frontline operations of the «Alpha» Special Operations Center.
«I have approved a 40-day SSU operation to exert pressure on the aggressor state in order to force an end to the war,» Zelenskyy said.
The president also highlighted the effectiveness of SSU units in executing combat missions and defending Ukrainian positions.
«Crucially, the SSU has consistently demonstrated top-tier performance in defending Ukraine’s frontline positions for several months now, driven by the use of various drone types. The „Alpha“ Special Operations Center leads in targeting enemy personnel and hardware,» the head of state said.
In addition to counter-Russian operations and special forces missions, the meeting addressed domestic security challenges within Ukraine.
«We also separately discussed internal security challenges in Ukraine,» the president stated.
