Zelenskyy responds to Putin’s proposal regarding a new "ceasefire" date

The proposal by the president of the aggressor state, Vladimir Putin, to cease all hostilities for Russia’s Victory Day on May 9 is «yet another attempt at manipulation.»

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during his traditional evening address on Monday, April 28.

«For some reason, everyone is supposed to wait until May 8 and only then stop the fire to ensure silence for Putin during his parade. We value people’s lives, not parades. That’s why we believe — the world believes — that there is no reason to wait until May 8, ” the Ukrainian leader replied to this cynical proposal.

According to him, fire must be stopped «not for a few days, only to start killing again afterward.»

«An immediate, full, and unconditional ceasefire — and for at least 30 days to ensure it is guaranteed and reliable — is what can provide the basis for real diplomacy, ” Zelenskyy again proposed.

The President of Ukraine reminded that today Russia once again struck a civilian facility in Cherkasy.

«This also happened against the backdrop of the world’s demands on Russia to end this war and establish silence. So every new day is a new clear proof that Russia must be pressured — and pressured significantly — so that they, in Moscow, are forced to end this war, a war that only Russia needs, ” he noted.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasizes that Ukraine «not for a single second» wanted this war and is ready to work as quickly as possible «with all partners who can help establish peace and guarantee security.»

«Russia constantly rejects all of this and manipulates the world, trying to deceive the United States, ” he concluded.
