In the network write about a complete power outage in the west of Ukraine: the CPD made a statement

In Ukraine , a fake "official report" is being circulated about an alleged complete power outage in the western regions, but this information is not true.

This was reported by the Center for counteraction to disinformation under the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine in Telegram

The CPO noted that as of 12:00 on January 17, there were no confirmations of any plans or decisions to completely de-energize the western regions of Ukraine from the Ministry of Energy, the energy system operator, regional military administrations or regional oblenergos.

According to the Center's data, a letter issued under the guise of an official document, which contains false statements about allegedly large-scale power cuts, is being massively distributed on the network. Such content has nothing to do with real decisions of state bodies or energy companies.

The CPI noted that such information injections are an element of hybrid warfare directed not only against Ukraine's energy infrastructure, but also against the psychological stability of the society. The main goal of such actions is to create panic moods, emotional pressure on the population and attempts to destabilize the situation in the country.

The Center for Counteracting Disinformation urged citizens to trust only official sources of information, in particular reports from the Ministry of Energy, the NEC Ukrenergo, regional military administrations and distribution system operators in their regions, and not to disseminate unverified reports.
