What Ukraine can counter Russia’s «brute missiles» with: Zelenskyy explains
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told the UN General Assembly that drones have emerged as Ukraine’s «long arm» of defense and an «asymmetric response» to Russian aggression.

The Ukrainian leader explained what his country can deploy in response to the «brute missiles» of dictators during debates at the UN in New York.
«We do not have the long and brute missiles that dictators like to display at parades, but we have drones that can fly two to three thousand kilometers. We simply had no other choice — we had to defend our lives, ” he said.
Zelenskyy also highlighted the growing importance of maritime drones.
«Control of the sea used to depend on large fleets. Today, thanks to maritime drones, we have forced Russia to move the remnants of its fleet to distant ports. Russia simply left us no other choice, ” the President said.
He reminded the international community of the successful «Spider Web» operation carried out by Ukraine’s Security Service on June 1 against Russian military airfields. According to Zelenskyy, this operation — in which inexpensive drones destroyed dozens of very costly strategic Russian bombers — became a striking example of how new weapons can overcome older forms of attack.
«None of this would have happened if Putin had not launched the full-scale invasion, the war. Every year this war continues, weapons become even more deadly, and only Russia can be blamed for that, ” the President concluded.
