The Russian drone attack on Poland, which took place on the night of September 10, may be part of joint Russian-Belarusian military exercises starting these days.
This opinion was expressed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address.
According to him, the movement of Russian drones toward the Polish border, which began being tracked from 1 a.m., was deliberate and not a mistake or coincidence.
«The Russians used both our territory and Belarusian territory to enter Polish airspace. Nearly two dozen drones entered Poland, and it seems that less than half of the total number came from the Ukrainian side,» Zelenskyy noted.
The Ukrainian President emphasizes that the Russians are testing the «limits of the possible.»
«They are testing reactions. They are observing how the armed forces of NATO countries respond, what they can do, and what they cannot yet do. Joint exercises with the Russians have started in Belarus, and this may be part of, so to speak, the training plan,» he hinted.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that Ukraine has offered Poland the necessary assistance in countering Russian drones, which could number not just dozens but hundreds in the future.
«Only joint European forces can provide protection. We are ready to help with technology, training of crews, and necessary intelligence… Ukraine proposes to protect the airspace in a coordinated, well-thought-out, and joint manner. We have presented to our partners how this can be done. The details are clear on how to prevent the war from expanding and how to stop Russia’s escalatory steps,» the Ukrainian leader stated.
